According to Thai mythology, the Maa Saep Nang was a horse who was so attractive that a farmer’s daughter fell in love with him and they tried to run away together; the girl’s parent were so upset that they killed the horse and then the girl followed her lover to the grave, Romeo-and-Juliet-style.
